When you’re job hunting as a nanny, it’s easy to forget that the two can sometimes give very different impressions.
You can carefully choose the words on your resume.
Professional. Responsible. Discreet. Trustworthy. Mature.
And then there’s everything you’ve shared online over the years.
Not necessarily anything shocking.
Just little things that, taken together, can say something about how you communicate, what you value, how you handle disagreement, what you choose to share, and how you present yourself.
Your resume is the version of yourself you’ve intentionally put on paper.
Your social media is often a much more unfiltered version.
Sometimes, those two versions line up perfectly.
And sometimes, they don’t.
So remember, it only takes a few things online to change the impression created by an otherwise great resume.
How mindful are you of your online presence?
