Our tip today is : make sure the holidays are clearly outlined in your contracts!
The holiday clause in your contract must include the following information :
✅️ Paid time off entitlement, if the dates are up to the nanny or the family, and how much notice is expected from both parties
✅️ Which public holidays the nanny gets off and what happens if they fall on a weekend?
✅️ How much paid sick time the nanny will get?
✅️ What happens if the family takes extra holiday during the year – does the nanny still get paid (and yes the nanny should still get paid if they are not the one asking for extra holiday!)
✅️ What happens if the nanny wants to take more holiday than agreed in the contract – would this be unpaid?
