You must be wondering why the hell they bother working a second job when they already have one?
Well, there are several reasons:
In general, they are not lazy and have an entrepreneurial spirit.
They don’t know if they will be nannies all their lives and they like the idea of turning a passion into a business.
Sometimes their business has to do with childcare, but sometimes not at all!
Many of these new agencies that are popping up are actually run by full-time working nannies trying to get their agency off the ground.
These nannies who already have a full-time job are aware that in this profession you can lose your job overnight, and that it can take months to find another one.
They are also aware that the industry is changing and that creating your own business to be independent takes time.
They don’t know what the future holds for them professionally, but they are ready to bounce back if things go wrong in their career.
If they find themselves unemployed, they can stay busy while waiting to find a job.
And then having a business on the side is simply a source of additional income, and who doesn’t like a little extra money at the end of the month?
During the Covid period and the lockdowns, some of these nannies were able to continue earning an income thanks to their small side businesses!
Now you must be wondering why the hell we are making a post about this?
Because we see a lot of nannies who have trouble finding work and who wait a little too much for a job to fall into their lap.
To keep themselves busy, they harass agencies, they slander on social media all the people they approached to find work and who were unable to help them, they participate in all the controversial posts they see on Facebook, and that’s it.
It doesn’t seem to occur to them that perhaps one should not always rely on others, maybe it’s time to move on professionally, or that maybe if they had planned their careers better, they wouldn’t be in this mess.
If these unemployed nannies invested all the time and energy they spend sending useless or inappropriate emails, or venting on social media, into a concrete project, perhaps their careers wouldn’t be completely at a standstill.
Anyway, as we all know being a nanny is an uncertain career, and we just really encourage all nannies who have the time, the desire, the energy, the motivation, the patience, and who have an area of expertise or an original idea to not hesitate to get started!
The future belongs to those who get up early!
