A private family in New York is seeking an experienced bilingual governess to support the education and daily care of their twin toddlers. The primary focus of this position is education — creating a stimulating, developmentally appropriate learning environment while supporting daily routines and childcare responsibilities. The family travels frequently to Florida, Europe, and by boat, so flexibility and a love of travel are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily care for twin toddlers, including feeding, bathing, and supervision
Lead age-appropriate educational activities focused on early literacy, language development, and cognitive growth
Create engaging, structured learning experiences tailored to toddler developmental stages
Encourage bilingual language development (Italian or French required)
Coordinate and attend playdates, enrichment classes, and activities
Plan cultural outings, including trips to museums and educational venues
Travel domestically and internationally with the family, sometimes for extended periods
Maintain consistent routines while adapting to travel schedules
Communicate clearly with parents regarding developmental progress and daily updates
Requirements:
Fluent in Italian or French (required)
Strong background in early childhood education or governess experience
Experience caring for toddlers in private households
Passport ready (not expiring within six months)
Flexible and comfortable traveling to Florida, Europe, and on boats
Professional, organized, and culturally aware
