This is no joke, all these “unusual” or “suspicious” things were actually written by families or agencies in their job offers or worded like this…

#1 “A minimum of 30 years’ experience is required.”

#2 “Because this family values food and nutrition they are requesting a home photo of a meal you’ve cooked when applying.”

#3 “The Nanny’s role will be Nanny at times, part Mother’s Helper at-times, and part Family Assistant – some with children, some pertaining to assisting the parents, and some with household tasks.”

#4 “Assisting Head Housekeeper when children are in school. We also have cleaners, so mainly children’s rooms and laundry for them.”

#5 “The nanny must have a “can-do” attitude, saying “yes” to reasonable requests.”

#6 “Must be fit to do obstacle course with kids.”

#7 “No ego – able to provide recommendations when needed, but also take cues from and respect the family’s choices and house rules.”

#8 “The baby is heavy and likes to be held, so we are looking for a strong childcare professional who can handle the physical demands of the position.”

#9 “Has worked a 24/7 position before long term and hasn’t gotten burnt out.”

#10 “Private room, meals, and utilities included in compensation package. $847 to be deducted per month for Room and Board.”

You never see this anywhere except in the nanny industry, do you?

Parents and agencies should proofread their ads before posting them, shouldn’t they?

Some things are obviously less shocking than others… which one makes you laugh the most or which one makes you the most angry? Is it a red flag for you when you see this kind of thing in nanny job postings?
