Russian speaking Nanny – Washington, DC
A thoughtful family in Capitol Hill, Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Russian-speaking Nanny to care for their 20-month-old toddler. The family follows a Montessori-leaning childcare philosophy and values a caregiver who understands toddler development, emotional regulation, and respectful guidance.
This role is ideal for a nurturing, patient nanny who can support independence, curiosity, and age-appropriate structure while collaborating closely with parents.
Nanny Responsibilities
Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for a toddler
Speak Russian consistently with the child to support language development
Prepare all child-related meals and snacks
Clean up after meals and daily child activities
Manage child’s laundry
Keep all child-related areas tidy, especially during nap time
Plan and lead engaging activities, including outdoor play, crafts, reading, music, and playdates
Take the child on walks and outings such as playgrounds and library visits
Support the family by managing the mental load of childcare, including tracking and communicating supply needs (diapers, wipes, groceries)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Ideal Candidate
Fluent in Russian (required)
Experienced with toddlers (18–36 months)
Familiar with Montessori or Montessori-inspired approaches
Calm, patient, and emotionally attuned
Organised, proactive, and reliable
Comfortable working in a home where a parent works remotely
Compensation
$30–$35 per hour, depending on experience
