A family in Palo Alto, CA (Bay Area) is looking for a Portuguese-speaking nanny to care for their two young children, ages 3 and 1. This is a busy, hands-on role for someone who genuinely enjoys being with little ones and can balance structure with play. The family is hoping to find someone warm, reliable, and engaging, someone who will take the lead on the children’s day-to-day care while creating a fun, safe, and developmentally supportive environment. Fluency in Portuguese is essential, as is the ability to travel with the family to Brazil.
This is a full-time position in a well-organised household, where you’ll be trusted to manage routines, keep things running smoothly, and bring creativity into the children’s day. The right person will be proactive, tidy, and comfortable taking initiative, while also respecting the family’s preferences and rhythms.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing full care for two children (ages 3 and 1)
- Speaking Portuguese with the children to support language development
- Planning and engaging in age-appropriate, educational activities
- Preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children
- Managing children’s laundry and keeping their belongings organised
- Keeping play areas clean, tidy, and inviting
- Supporting daily routines, including naps, meals, and transitions
- Traveling with the family to Brazil as needed
The schedule is Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and the family is offering $45–$55 per hour, depending on experience.
Candidates must already be based locally, as no relocation is offered.
