If you want nanny agencies and families to want to work with you, consistency is key!
If you want to stand out to nanny agencies and families, you can’t just tell them what they want to hear, you also have to do what you say…
If you claim to respect confidentiality and practice discretion but you share the names of your employers or the contact details of your references on your CV or on childcare websites, or you share or post photos of your nanny kids (even with their faces blurred) it is unlikely to work.
If you claim to be highly professional and have excellent communication skills, but you pester people for replies to your messages or lose your cool when you don’t get any or don’t have it fast enough, or participate in every slanderous post you see on Facebook, it is unlikely to work.
If you claim to be highly experienced and know the industry inside and out, but you clearly don’t understand the market or the recruitment process, don’t seem to know markets rates, and have unrealistic expectations, it’s unlikely to work.
If you want to get noticed and be shortlisted by agencies and families, your profile must be credible. And to be credible, it is not enough to have experience backed up with references…
So make sure what you say is consistent with what you do, this can help position you as a reliable candidate!
