Nannies, when you apply, remember to tell the recruiter your location. They need to know where you are based to assess your suitability for the role.
And be specific: don’t just give the country or region, give the city and neighborhood for big cities, or a zip code.

Most positions are “Live-out” and not open to relocation candidates. Families want local candidates who can travel daily for these positions, so the first thing recruiters need to know for these positions is the location of the candidates to ensure they meet the main requirement.
Unfortunately, not being local, can be enough to not be selected for these positions, as we always tell you, families are in no way obliged to provide accommodation or consider relocation candidate.

When positions are “Live-in”, they are generally open to relocation candidates, and even if families can afford to have someone travel from any part of the world, they still want convenient arrangements. They can sometimes take into account the fact that you are closer than another candidate, so your location can sometimes make the difference!
However, never assume that living nearby is enough to get a job, you also need to meet the other job requirements.

Even if your location most often works against you, it can sometimes work in your favor… and since recruiters need this information, don’t forget to give this information when you apply!
