For candidates, it is unacceptable not to receive a response to all the applications they send.
For recruiters, it’s acceptable practice not to respond to all the applications they receive…
Everyone sees things from their own point of view, so not everyone will agree, but sometimes, no answer is an answer!
Yes, it’s rude not to respond to an application, but it’s just as rude to demand responses to all of your applications : no one has an obligation to respond after all, it is not against the law to ghost a candidate, and candidates are not shy about ghosting recruiters who respond to them either…
It’s even more rude to demand responses to your applications when you send applications that are obviously unsuitable applications.
More than 90% of applications sent each day are unsuitable applications; it’s therefore “normal” (if we can say so) that they remain unanswered… if recruiters had to take the time to process them all, they would no longer have time to devote to candidates suitable for their positions, and if they want to be efficient and have a profitable business they must work on suitable applications only…
The hard truth is also that when recruiters take the time to respond to each candidate they reject, many of them have the nerve to argue with rude and pissed off messages… So it’s understandable that recruiters don’t want to waste time responding to all the applications they receive…
When you want to be a part of this industry, it’s best to understand that no answer is an answer and not make a big deal out of it….
And to get answers it’s very simple anyway, as we tell you all the time, you just have to stop spamming your application everywhere and only apply when you genuinely meet all the requirements. If you really want answers to your applications, it’s up to you to get them!
We know that not all nannies who read this will agree and that some will even decide to unfollow us… we challenge them to start their own recruitment agency, and we will see if they will still want to respond to all the applications they receive when they see the number of unsuitable applications they receive and the time that these applications waste!
