When you are a nanny, it is highly important to respect the privacy of your employers, regardless of whether they are high profile or not, but it is equally important that your privacy as a nanny is respected.

You don’t have to be an employer or high profile to have privacy expectations, and yet the contracts that nannies are usually required to sign contain confidentiality clauses that protect the privacy of families, but not that of the nannies.

Nannies, your private life matters as much as that of your employers and you can perfectly ask your nanny families to sign an NDA too!
For example, you can ask your nanny families not to post your name or photos of you on their social media, not to share your personal information with their family or friends, and if they have security cameras, not to share any footage without your written consent.

If you are uncomfortable with families who think that because they employ you they can share things about you which are actually your personal business, do not hesitate to add a confidentiality clause in your favor to your contract, you even have every right to do so!
