So many candidates ask for help on how to apply when they can easily figure it out on their own…

It’s your job to figure out how to apply, so do it!

If you don’t know how to apply, there are necessarily instructions or information available to you. If you just need to read them to know how to apply, you should do so without bothering anyone.

It’s okay to not get how to apply right away, but it’s not okay to take up people’s time with obvious questions, or when the answers are right under your nose.

Recruiters and employers are looking for candidates who show initiative and can follow directions.

If you can’t manage without relying on others at this point, what will happen if a family hires you and asks you to cook a specific dish for the children, for example? You may not be able to bother anyone to get the recipe, to know where the ingredients and utensils are or how the equipment works in the kitchen.

You may have to figure it all out yourself, so show the recruiters that you can do it…

Here is what recruiters will think if you need assistance at this stage : they will assume that you will also need assistance to do your job… and since it is very unlikely that an employer will hire an assistant to help you as soon as you are too lazy to do something on your own, that will be enough for them to decide that you are not a good candidate!
