THE STORY
Amanda Simpson’s love for working with children started in 1992 on attending college and
has had a career in childcare since becoming NNEB qualified in 1994. Amanda started off as
a Nanny and then moved into the early years sector working within day nurseries.
Unfortunately, April 2023 at the age of 46 years old she was diagnosed with Triple Negative
Breast Cancer. She has had breast conserving surgery, undergone six gruelling rounds of
chemotherapy and ten rounds of Radiotherapy.
Amanda is now on a mission to get her life back to some form of normality and support
other people going through this dreadful disease.
THE MISSION
Breast cancer effects 1-8 women and some men too. The mission is to support breast cancer
charities therefore Amanda has joined forces with The Pink Payroll Company as People
Champion.
For every annual subscription they donate 5% to worthwhile breast cancer charities.
Donations go towards Research, Support and most importantly Awareness.
Amanda has said that being aware of your norm and checking your breasts on a regular
basis is vital as early detection has saved her life!
