A private family based in Weston, MA is seeking an experienced and caring Rotational Nanny to join their household team. The family has five children ranging from school-aged to newborn. The ideal candidates will work on 14 days on/14 days off schedule and provide consistent, high-quality care in alignment with the family’s parenting style and household structure. The family needs a flexible, reliable professional who can ensure smooth operations while maintaining a nurturing and structured environment for the children.
Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, hands-on care for five children, aged newborn to 10 years old, including meal preparation, daily routines, and engaging activities
Support the children in outdoor activities such as sports, particularly with the older boys (shooting hoops, playing soccer, etc.)
Manage after-school activities, homework assistance, and oversee evening routines, including bath time, dinner, and multiple bedtimes
Work with another rotational nanny to ensure seamless transitions and consistent care. Nannies A and B must align in style to provide the children with a stable, structured environment
Communicate effectively with the family, other household staff, and the family’s assistant/household manager to maintain a smooth-running household
Assist the mother with the care of the newborn, allowing her to spend quality time with the baby, provide coverage when needed, especially in the afternoons and evenings
Implement supportive behavioral strategies in line with the family’s authoritative parenting approach, which focuses on setting boundaries while fostering respect
Provide full-time support during the family’s summer vacations at Martha’s Vineyard, where nanny accommodations will be provided (this includes assisting with travel and ensuring the children’s routines remain consistent while away from home)
Assist with light household tasks related to the children, including tidying up play areas, managing their laundry, and organizing their belongings
Requirements:
At least 10+ years of experience in professional childcare, including prior experience in a rotational nanny role
Previous experience in a high-profile or large family setting is preferred
Ability to work collaboratively with another nanny to ensure consistency in care
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage different ages and needs simultaneously
Flexibility to adjust to the family’s needs, particularly during travel and vacation periods
Must be willing to travel with the family during the summer months and be available for travel as needed*
CPR/First Aid certified or willingness to obtain certification
Valid driver’s license preferred
Schedule: Typical hours will be 12pm – 8pm with flexibility needed to work one weekend day every other week*
