WACO, TX (OPEN TO ALL US CANDIDATES)-The sweetest stay-at-home mom seeks a FULL-TIME NANNY to be her right-hand person in caring for her 5 girls and boy, ages 12,11, 9, 7, 5, 1.5. The eldest three are in school 3 days per week and homeschooled 2 days per week. The 5- and 7-year-old are in school full time and the 1-year-old stays home. The 5- and 7-year-old have Down Syndrome. They are an absolute delight and come with certain challenging behaviors. Thus, the ideal candidate is someone who has experience working with children with special needs and/or a background in ABA therapy. This is not a requirement, but is helpful in understanding their special needs. The only requirement is that you have a desire to work with them and learn. We see often that people will accommodate/ tolerate them but want more than that for them. Someone who love, accept, and enjoy them. They seek a nanny who can be authoritative, especially for their two kiddos with special needs, while also having compassion for where they are.
They are super flexible and appreciate the support all around! They are happy to let their nanny apply their skill sets to meet the family’s needs. For example, someone with a background in education is welcome to help with homeschooling and homework for the eldest three, while someone who enjoys being in the kitchen can help with meal prep while mom takes over childcare duties, etc. Cooking is a big plus but not a requirement. Overall, they seek a nanny who can take the initiative to identify what needs to be done before being told to do so and do what it takes to get the job done independently.
The schedule is fairly flexible. They will work with the nanny they hire to come up with a mutually beneficial schedule. They are happy to guarantee 40 hours per week. A general schedule would look something like afternoons 3-4 days during the workweek from 3-7pm helping with after-school activities, taking the children to therapy, and helping with dinner, bath and bedtime, which is around 6pm and 7pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays would ideally be full days (approx. 8:30am-6/7pm) helping with the youngest while mom helps the eldest with homeschooling. They would appreciate some help on Saturday OR Sunday for a few hours with one weekend day off and a day off in the middle of the regular work week. Weekends are not a major requirement but are preferred. Again, the schedule can be flexible and they will work with the nanny they hire to come up with an ideal schedule for both parties.
Duties include tag teaming with mom to care for the kids and keep the home running smoothly. This includes taking the children to therapy and afterschool activities, helping with meal prep, running errands, bath and bedtime routines, and watching the younger children 2-3 days per week solo while mom and dad attend the older kiddos’ sports events and practices.
The ideal candidate is someone who can be firm and authoritative while also being compassionate and fun! Must be able to establish boundaries with the children. They have a lot of fun as a family and spend a lot of time with neighbors who are good friends. Someone who is outgoing and more of an extrovert will do well in this role, as they like to keep a fun-loving house filled with family and friends. They seek a nanny who isn’t afraid to step in and take charge even while working alongside mom. Someone who can take on responsibility and do what it takes to lessen the parents’ load. Must be creative and full of energy!
The position is open to out-of-state candidates and relocation assistance will be provided, but housing is not. The position is LIVE OUT only. Benefits include paid sick days, holidays, and vacation. Pay is commensurate with experience. Start date is ASAP!
