Family in Simpsonville, SC, is seeking an experienced and nurturing Private Teacher/Nanny to homeschool their two children (3rd and 5th grade). This position is starting in early summer. Both children are currently enrolled in private school, with one child attending a specialized school for dyslexia and ADHD. The family is looking for a dedicated individual to provide full-time care and educational support from morning to evening.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a tailored homeschooling curriculum for two children, with a focus on learning through curriculum, exploration, outdoor activities, and field trips (parks, hiking, museums, etc.).
Support one child with dyslexia and ADHD by using effective teaching strategies and individualized attention.
Plan and facilitate daily lessons, integrating traditional academics and hands-on learning.
Ensure a structured, engaging, and nurturing environment for the children’s academic and personal growth.
Prepare the children’s lunches and support in keeping the daily needs of the home running smoothly by tidying common areas and switching laundry when needed.
Encourage outdoor play and physical activity to promote well-being and learning through nature and exploration.
Flexibility to travel with the family teaching on the go is a huge plus, but not a requirement.
Qualifications:
Experience in homeschooling or teaching, particularly with children in 3rd and 5th grade.
Knowledge of learning disabilities, such as dyslexia and ADHD, and how to accommodate these needs in an educational setting.
A nurturing, patient, and creative approach to teaching, with a love for exploration and outdoor learning.
Comfortable with a household that includes a one-year-old Bernedoodle.
Ability to assist with light household tasks, such as prepping meals for the children, switching laundry, and aiding in keeping a tidy learning environment.
Open to moms with homeschooling experience or teachers looking to transition to a private family setting.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with flexibility as needed)
