A busy family who split their time between Connecticut in the US and Reykjavik, Iceland are looking for a fantastic, responsible, and dedicated live-in nanny. The family would appreciate weekend coverage, so an approximate schedule could be Saturday through Wednesday, but flexibility would be appreciated to allow for some babysitting as well. This is a live-in position and you will be the supervising adult when the parents go out in the evenings.
Duties will include all care for the three children, aged 12, 12, and 10, including maintaining their safety at all times, feeding them, keeping them organized and cleaning up after them, making sure they behave, transporting them where they need to go, helping them with their personal hygiene, and putting them to bed. The candidate will travel with the family between Iceland and the US, spending the entirety of the summer in Iceland. A typical day in Reykjavik might include helping the children get up, fed, and ready in the morning, supporting the children with their remote tutoring, accompanying the family on days out or taking them to and from a day camp, food shopping, some errands, preparing (or ordering) and serving dinner, and helping with the shower and bedtime routines.
The ideal candidate already has experience with the pre-teen age-group and is confident around nut allergies and avoiding exposure to products containing nuts. Also helpful would be experience with moderate autism and with administering medication, including a daily injection pen. The children have been mainly home-schooled in recent years, so being able to support their re-integration into a more normal life would be appreciated! Candidates should be patient, firm, fun and great at relating to this slightly older age group. Please be a very confident and safe driver in all weather, with excellent English and a love of animals. Assistance with dog care will be needed at both locations, and the family also has cats and horses. Dual US/EU citizenship is a plus.
Accommodation in Reykjavik is your own room with shared bathroom, while in CT it could either be own room with bathroom, or a separate apartment.
