Palos Verdes Estates Hermosa Beach – We are a busy family seeking a dedicated, energetic, and experienced full-time nanny to care for two boys, ages 8 and 9, both of whom are neurodivergent. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, nurturing, and capable of handling the boys’ academic and behavioral needs while managing some household duties. The boys are very active, so we need someone who can keep up with their energy and actively engage them in both educational and playful activities.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Provide attentive, compassionate, and patient care to two boys with ADHD.
•    Help manage daily routines such as meals, hygiene, schoolwork, social and play activities.
•    Help with homework and educational support; must be able to guide the boys academically.
•.      implement a consistent structure and routine to help manage behavior and encourage positive development.
•    Use techniques and strategies tailored to ADHD and other conditions to encourage focus, emotional regulation, and social skills.
•    Assist with schoolwork, therapies, and playdates and other developmental activities as needed.
•    Coordinate and transport the boys to appointments, therapy sessions, and extracurricular activities.
•    Communicate effectively with parents about the children’s progress, challenges, and any concerns.
•    Collaborate with healthcare professionals, parents and therapists to ensure a holistic approach to care.
•    Provide a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment that supports the boys’ emotional and physical development.
•    Be flexible and adapt to changing needs, moods, and energy levels throughout the day.

•    Maintain a structured and nurturing environment to promote their emotional and physical development.
•    Work closely with parents and experts (e.g., therapists, teachers) to implement strategies for the boys’ growth.
•    Transport the children to and from school, activities, and appointments as needed (must have own car).
•    Be willing to travel with the family when required.
•    Engage in active play, outdoor activities, and creative projects to support their energy levels and interests.

House Hold Responsibilities:
•    Assist with light housekeeping, including luandry, cleaning, tyding up and organizing.
•    Work with household staff (eg. housekeepers, chef, houseman) to ensure smoothly run homes.
•    Take on household assistant tasks such as running errands, organizing, and helping with family needs beyond childcare.

Qualifications:

•    Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years working as a nanny, caregiver, or in a similar role with children who have neurodivergence (e.g., ADHD, autism, sensory processing issues).
•    Education: College-educated (degree in education, psychology, child development, or related field is a plus).
•    Skills: Knowledge of behavior management and techniques for working with neurodivergent children. Comfortable supporting children with academic work.
•    Transportation: Must have a reliable car, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
•    Personality: Energetic, patient, and able to keep up with two active boys. Willing to learn from experts to better support the children.
•    Flexibility: Must be available to work weekends and travel with the family when needed.
•    Household Skills: Ability to assist with household tasks like cleaning, laundry, and organization.

Schedule: 10 am to 6pm  M-F (flexibility required)
