Private family with home bases in New York City and the Hudson Valley seeks a creative, playful, and energetic Nanny to provide childcare to their two children, a toddler and an infant. This position is Live-Out in New York City, and will include time spent at the family’s country home, with private accommodations provided on the property. The base schedule is Monday through Friday, 9am to 6:30pm, with flexibility to shift the work week as needed to include one or two weekend days on request. The Nanny must be able to work as a team alongside other household staff and family members, and will be in charge of all childcare related duties. The ideal candidate will be able to create a fun and nurturing environment to engage the children – one in which they are free to explore without anxiety, while being met with gentle discipline.
Responsibilities
Assisting in the daily care, nurturing, feeding, clean up and supervision of two children
Coordinating children’s daily activities; providing/supervising transportation both to and from lessons, appointments, and activities, etc.
Must strive to create a supportive environment for the home, as well as nurturing and trusting relationships with child
Working as a team player as part of the family
Ordering supplies, personal shopping, running errands, etc for the children
Tidying up and laundry services as it pertains to the children
Occasional overnight stays with children and dog when parents are away
Occasional travel with family to vacation or other destinations
Additional Nanny responsibilities and duties as needed and requested by the Principal
Requirements
Strong command of English language; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
Experience working in a private home in a similar role
Must have exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities with prioritization and efficiency
Physically agile; able to keep up with active children
Positive, friendly, and professional in both mindset and manner; use of utmost discretion and confidentiality at all times
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility in schedule with the willingness to work long hours, weekends, and overnights as needed
Comfortable with a large dog in the home
Valid Driver’s License; a confident driver with zero points on record
Legally able to work in the United States for any employer
