A lovely family in Malibu, CA is seeking a newborn care specialist to join their team from late April/early May through June or July (depending on the right person’s availability). The schedule would be 24/7 with a consecutive four-hour break each day. The baby will be about three months old at the start of the term. Difficulties with reflux issues require the family to keep occasional feedings going overnight, but they will hope to have baby sleeping through the night by the end of the term. The family has two older children in the home, ages 11 and 15, who don’t require any childcare.
The ideal candidate is warm, reserved, and hardworking. Someone who can find a balance between using their extensive experience to excel in the role while taking the parents’ lead will do best. They want someone who will take direction well and work with them to implement their doctor’s recommendations, but who can have suggestions on things like baby products, songs, or milestone encouragement when prompted. While the parents are easygoing and warm, they want someone who takes the job seriously and acts with discretion and professionalism. The NCS should be clean, tidy, and generally have a generally unobtrusive presence in the home.
The family requires up-do-date COVID, TDAP, and MMR vaccines for all candidates. The home they’re in is in a remote part of Malibu, so while they’re open to relocating someone for the position from out of state, only a candidate who brings their own car would be able to freely leave the property on their time off, as there are no ride-share services like Uber available. It’s likely there will be travel involved in the role, both long-term and short-term.
