On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Governess/Nanny for a long-term position.
The Governess would be required for home-schooling two children, a 6-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl. This position is sole charge. The family travels between Horsham, West Sussex / London / Cape Town (extensive travel – the family expects to spend January to March in Cape Town). There may be further travel to destinations like France or Greece.

The ideal candidate would be an organised, academic, energetic, fun, great amount of empathy and understanding for children’s emotional well-being and professional.

Home schooling the children
Assist with setting up a home school (this will be done in a separate cottage on the estate).
Assist with deciding on a curriculum (along with the parents and an education consultant).
Prepare lesson plans.
Coordinate with outside educators, for example music lessons, surf lessons or anything else that will benefit the children’s well-being.
Take the children to at museums, the outdoors, and other interesting places to learn.
Assisting children in difficult situations, helping to manage their emotions, and offering support and guidance is extremely important.
Be very physically able as the children are energetic and active,
Be curious, enjoy learning and sharing knowledge with the children,
Follow and support the children’s academic pursuits as well as their natural curiosity and passion for learning
Have a flexible approach to learning, allow going “off topic”, deep diving into topics that the children enjoy etc.
Have a driving license

Salary: Depends on experience and qualifications

The working hours:8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday

Accommodation:If live-in, the accommodation would be a flat or cottage that is separate from the main house.

Benefits:The family will offer the successful candidate an annual CPD budget of £170 per year, in addition to 28 days’ annual leave (including bank holidays).
