We are seeking a full time SEN nanny to work with a family in Dubai for at least 2 years.
The family has twins, one of which is show signs of autism.
The role will be caring for 6-year-old B/G twins, primarily supporting the little boy who has hyperactivity, developmental delays and ADHD, alongside another nanny who will help with support for the little girl. The boy is supported by a team of therapists. He has good language but needs firm boundaries and a nanny who can support with behaviour. If the nanny has training in ABA this would be advantageous. Communication with the parents and the child’s therapists is very important and the nanny needs to be skilled in this area. The nanny would be fully responsible for sourcing educational resources, planning activities and education and liaising with therapists, preparing for travel etc.
The nanny should have lots of energy and common sense and will be required to work 5 days. The hours will be 6.30am to 7.30/8.30pm with time off during the day when the children are at school. If the nanny is not needed to attend meetings or carry out child related duties, they can take this time during the day for themself and go to the gym etc. The family are looking for an active and energetic nanny with demonstrable experience of working with children with SEN. The candidate should be able to fit well into the family and offer them support. Experience working in an intergenerational family setup would be an additional bonus.
This is a live out role and apartment accommodation for the nanny’s sole use will be provided in the JLT (Jumeriah Lake Tower) area of Dubai. A driver would collect the nanny and drive them back home at the start and end of each working day. This is a fully staffed household and so no nursery duties are required.
The family would provide visas for working in Dubai. They travel regularly (including to the UK which can be every few months) and this can often be spontaneous, so the nanny needs to be very flexible. The family is looking for someone who will commit to at least 2 years to provide the child with stability and continuity of approach.
