This family are sadly saying goodbye to their current Nanny who has had them all super organised and supported for the last two years and looking for someone to take over seamlessly and keep their busy household running smoothly week to week!

The family is seeking a native or fluent English-speaking candidate with a dynamic and muck-in attitude. Excellent organisation is a must, thinking ahead to tomorrow’s schedule, as well as organising the children’s schedules looking to the month/s ahead amidst the family’s broader plans, planning the logistics in this three-child household with after-school clubs, play dates and FaceTime tutors as well as homework support. The children are all bright and a firm-but-fun attitude will work wonders. All go to school in South Kensington. Eldest is fairly independent.

The nanny must have experience working with three children; the children are intelligent and high-energy so ability to focus them and create calm is important; formal qualification in nannying and child emotional development highly desirable. Fluent English and ability to support 7+ / 8+ homework.

You will be responsible for everything pertaining to the children before and after school.

The family has a second home in the Cotswolds (1hr from Paddington by train, or 1.5 hours from the house by car) where they spend many weekends and school holidays throughout the year. The ideal candidate will be happy to travel to and from the Cotswolds and/or stay over while the family is there, and/or travel with the children from school on a Friday night (with concurrent shift of hours), although this is not essential. There are many fun activities/excursions/days out in and around the area, and the children are happy to ride their bikes to the village playground and pick blackberries from the hedgerows. Travel abroad with the family is not required, or babysitting.

Mum works for a rhino conservation organisation and travels to Kenya and USA regularly on 7–10-day trips requiring proxy-parenting at this time. The family need good support for the children and household.

General duties:

  • All childcare duties, pick up and drop offs to school
  • Keeping house organised and tidy. Noticing when things need replacing or bought, load/empty dishwasher. Have cleaners five days per week so no deep cleaning.
  • Supporting with homework, getting more intense and children get older, need to take charge of this. Making sure free iPad use is controlled
  • Preparing breakfast and dinner, lunch when on duty in holidays (no pork or shellfish).
  • Keeping a calm and happy environment for the children, be dynamic at noticing who needs extra attention and managing behavior. Encouraging manners and having a genuine interest in care for each individual child and their development as they grow into young adults. Well skilled in promoting sibling harmony, supporting the parents with this and suggesting strategies and ideas you have.
  • Organising the children and all their activities, current nanny has a wall planner and electronic calendar with parents. Need to be on top of this at all times and reminding parents of upcoming events. Managing week to week and always looking at least a month ahead. Solid organisational skills here is key!
  • Taking children to appointments, e.g. GP, dentist, optometrist etc.
  • Amazon and Ocado orders, grocery shopping, post office, doing returns, deliveries, dry cleaning, dog walking/feeding, take dogs to vet, liaise with contractors, gardeners etc.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experienced Nanny must have worked in a busy household with similar aged children and be very capable of managing sibling rivalries and maintaining a calm atmosphere for them at home.
  • Formal qualification in nannying and child emotional development highly desirable.
  • Must be experienced helping with homework and supporting exam study, need someone super confident with this and able to help the three children at their different stages.
  • Must be EXTREMELY organised and a pro at keeping every facet of a household running day to day and week to week
  • Driver is essential! Auto car provided for school runs and also have a manual car that the nanny is welcome to take to commute to and from work
  • Happy to cook meals for family, do not eat pork or shellfish

  • Happy working in a house where parent works from home
  • Fluent English
  • Dynamic with a muck-in, can-do attitude! Positive and proactive volunteering to help the parents and assist the smooth running of the home.
