In the HNW Nanny industry, the hiring process isn’t always what you’d expect and some things aren’t exactly “standard.”
You may be offered a trial period after a simple 10-minute audio or video call.
The interview may be cancelled and rescheduled 2 or 3 times before finally taking place!
You may be invited to spend 2 or 3 days on the family yacht to be interviewed for just 20 minutes by the parents.
You may be asked to travel a long way (all expenses paid, of course) just for a quick in-person interview, and sometimes you don’t even hear from them after your interview, even though you took the trouble to come!
Sometimes you won’t even have an interview with the parents, only with their personal assistant or estate/house manager and you won’t meet the parents until you’re offered a trial or the job!
If these things happen to you, don’t worry, it’s “normal” (if you can call it that) and they are not always red flags.
If you’re looking for work in this industry, it is essential to be both cautious and open-minded, and to find the right balance between the two!
