All recruiters always give the same advice to their candidates, which is to tailor their CV to each application.
The problem is that when you apply for multiple jobs through the same agency or website, you don’t always have the option to submit a different CV for each application.
So how to do it?
When you are not given the option to send a different resume each time you submit a new application, here is what you can do:
Tailor your resume to only one specific type of job.
Most of the time, candidates who don’t know how to tailor their CV to each application apply to absolutely everything.
Each position requires different skills, and it is just not possible to have the right profile for all types of positions: Nanny, Maternity Nurse /NCS, Governess, SEN Nanny, Postpartum Doula etc…
You won’t be taken seriously anyway if you claim to be able to fill every role, so figure out which role suits you best, tailor your resume to that type of role only, and of course, only apply to that type of position!
Whenever possible, it’s best to tailor your resume to each position individually, but when that’s not possible, tailoring your resume to just one specific type of position can do the trick just as well!
It is by showing recruiters and employers that you have an area of expertise that you will increase your chances of getting noticed, not by pretending to be a perfect candidate for absolutely every role!
