New York, NY 10021 – A Private Residence in the Upper East Side, NY seeks an experienced Nanny to assist with the care of two children: 2 years old, and a 5-year-old. The chosen candidate should be able to anticipate proactively and efficiently the children and family needs.
The nanny will be responsible for organizing and keeping the children’s rooms, closets, and play spaces tidy and stocked with age-appropriate toys & books. She will also be tasked with education activities and developing educational skills daily.
A lovely vibrant individual with a positive attitude and team player mentality would be wonderful for this family. Huge plus if fluent in Mandarin/Cantonese.
Responsibilities:
Manage children’s schedule
Exercise common sense and the ability to take initiative in order to accomplish tasks and make decisions
Taking children to and from appointments and activities
Assist children with school projects, tutoring and teaching of Mandarin language
Ensuring the safety of the children at all times
Packing and unpacking children’s belongings as needed when traveling
Maintain a constant line of communication and reporting to the parents
Running errands and procuring children supplies as needed
Assist with laundry and light housekeeping of children’s rooms and play areas
Assist with meals, and snacks for the children
Traveling with family if requested (Must be passport ready)
Must be able to drive in the Hamptons
Must be able to spend summer in the Hamptons, NY
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of related experience working for private families providing childcare services
Excellent references are required from current and previous employers
Certification in CPR & First Aid
Must have experience working with infants
Huge plus if equipped with Mandarin/English communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Polished, poised, and professional
Intelligent with strong problem-solving abilities
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
Good swimming abilities
Flexibility to work overtime as needed by the family
US work authorization
Valid passport
Schedule: Monday – Friday 11 am – 7 pm
Salary/Rate: $30 – $40 per hour
