A Seattle-based family is seeking an experienced Yue Sao (Chinese Confinement Nanny) with strong knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) postpartum practices. The role focuses on supporting the mother’s recovery after childbirth while ensuring the newborn receives attentive and professional care. This includes specialized postpartum support, rest guidance, nutritious confinement meals, and infant care tailored to traditional Chinese customs.
Key Responsibilities
Postpartum Support
Guide the mother through a flexible confinement period, following TCM recovery principles.
Monitor the mother’s health and well-being, supporting physical recovery and emotional balance.
Provide light massage or body-care practices where appropriate.
Educate the family on traditional postpartum methods, ensuring a smooth adjustment.
Newborn Care
Provide expert care including bathing, feeding, swaddling, and sleep support.
Monitor the baby’s health and development, alerting parents to any concerns.
Maintain a calm, nurturing environment for both mother and child.
Nutrition & Cooking
Prepare traditional confinement meals, soups, and teas that restore energy, replenish blood, and support lactation.
Ensure all meals are warming, nourishing, and tailored to postpartum recovery needs.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food organization related to confinement meals.
Household Support
Manage light household chores related to the mother and baby.
Keep nursery and recovery spaces clean and organized.
Support family in maintaining a structured yet comforting environment.
Off-property housing provided
Schedule: Full-time with 1–2 days off per week
