A prominent, fully staffed private family in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a highly qualified French Immersion Educational Teacher/Nanny for a summer position supporting their two young sons, ages 6 and 4. This unique role blends formal academic tutoring, French language immersion, and collaborative childcare support within a structured, high-touch household. The position focuses on ensuring the children remain academically engaged and linguistically immersed in French throughout the summer while preparing them confidently for the upcoming school year.
The successful candidate will provide daily French language instruction, conducting structured immersion sessions and speaking exclusively in French during learning periods. Lessons should incorporate experiential and hands-on learning, such as outdoor exploration, cooking, reading, creative projects, games, and storytelling to reinforce language acquisition and fluency. The educator will also assess each child’s academic level and provide individualized tutoring in reading, writing, and math, using age-appropriate teaching strategies to support engagement, progress, and confidence. Outside of instructional time, the candidate will collaborate with the household’s nanny team, assisting with routines, supervision, and activities as needed.
The ideal candidate is a native or near-native French speaker with a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field, with teaching certification strongly preferred. Experience teaching young children in a classroom or tutoring environment is essential, along with a calm, warm, and highly professional demeanor. The role may include domestic and international travel and requires flexibility during the summer schedule.
Local candidates may live out, while non-local candidates will be provided private accommodations. The position runs May 25 or June 1 through August 11, 2026, and offers total compensation of $30,000–$35,000 depending on experience.
