Dedicated and compassionate German speaking Manny / Governor is required to provide personalised education and care for an 8-year-old Year 4 student who is home-schooled. The ideal candidate will create a stimulating learning environment, foster personal growth, and support the broader objectives of nurturing a well-rounded individual. The family lives six months a year in West Sussex and six months a year in Cape Town, South Africa.
Curriculum Development and Instruction
Prepare and deliver engaging lessons, units, and projects aligned with learning objectives in Mathematics, Science, and other core subjects.
Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the student’s interests and learning styles.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all educational activities.
Learning Environment
Establish and enforce rules of behavior to maintain a respectful and inclusive learning environment.
Manage student behavior effectively to promote a positive educational experience.
Assessment and Evaluation
Create, assign, and grade assessments, including tests, quizzes, essays, and projects.
Track and evaluate the student’s academic progress, providing regular feedback to the student and parents.
Administer tests to gauge learning outcomes and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
Student Engagement
Encourage the student to explore learning opportunities and potential career paths.
Help improve study methods and habits to enhance academic performance.
Provide one-on-one support to address individual learning needs.
Communication
Maintain open and regular communication with parents regarding the student’s progress and any concerns.
Provide holistic feedback encompassing academic, social, and emotional development
Emotional and Physical Support
Offer compassionate care, ensuring the student’s physical and emotional well-being.
Create a secure and organized environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
Activity Coordination
Plan and engage in stimulating activities, including play and adventure outings.
Orchestrate engaging experiences that promote creativity and exploration.
Transportation
Drive and pick up the student from various activities and appointments.
Ensure all travel is conducted safely and punctually.
Daily Living Support
Prepare simple, healthy meals following easy recipes.
Assist with light shopping tasks alongside the student

Passion for outdoor activities such as surfing and mountain biking (preferable).
Comfortable around dogs and able to integrate seamlessly into a pet-friendly environment.
Working days are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. Driver is essential and car will be provided. Family has a dog. Accommodation is a newly renovated apartment that is separate from the main house. Salary offered £60,000 + per year depending on experience or weather the candidate will live in or live out.
