We are seeking a dedicated and experienced live-in manny to join a family in Derbyshire, near the Manchester border with two boys aged 13 & 14. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children who have additional needs, particularly ADHD and ASD.
Key Responsibilities:
Weekdays:
– Wake children and assist with morning routines (7:00-8:00 AM)
– Ensure morning medication is taken
– Prepare children for school and ensure timely departure
– Be present when children return from school (from 3:30 PM onwards)
– Facilitate after-school activities
– Prepare evening meals
– Assist with homework
– Supervise evening routines (showers, preparation for next day, bedtime)
– Perform general housekeeping duties
Weekends and School Holidays:
– Assist with morning routines
– Prepare meals throughout the day, sometimes involving children in cooking
– Arrange and facilitate various activities, including transportation
– Join family on outings and weekend trips
– Provide general supervision and engagement
Additional Requirements:
– Flexibility with work schedule, especially during weekdays
– Ability to adapt to school holiday schedules
– Willingness to travel with the family for 3-4 weeks per year (including occasional weekends)
– Experience working with children who have ADHD and ASD
– Comfortable living with two Labrador dogs
– Valid driver’s license and ability to provide transportation
Hours:
Full-time (47.5hrs): – Monday, Tuesday and Friday 7-8am & 3:30-10:30pm – Saturday 11am-11pm – Sunday 11am-10:30pm You will not be expected to work every weekend and the family is happy with an alternate weekend arrangement. Part-time (27hrs): 8-10pm Sunday evening 7-8am Monday to Thursday 3-10pm Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday In the school holidays, the hours will generally stay the same but maybe 8-10am in the morning and then 4-10pm in the afternoon.
