Nannies don’t really want to apply when they see this in the job descriptions : “6 days a week” “12 hours a day” or “on call 24/5 or 24/6” …and they are right!
Nannies want and need a healthy work-life balance, and these are definitely not their preferred schedules.
There will always be some who don’t mind working crazy hours, but they will only apply if the pay reflects the long hours required, and they may not be able to stay long term, even if the pay is worth the long hours…
If you need such long hours, fine. Just remember that nannies should be paid a fair rate for each hour worked and that these positions result in higher turnover rates due to burnout.
