☆ Keep your resume clear and concise

Recruiters and employers need to see right away that you are qualified for the position. And by right away, we literally mean right away, as in less than 30 seconds.
A basic layout with bullet points is generally easier and faster to navigate than a trendy design.

☆ Proofread your resume

It might be common sense, but it’s still worth mentioning: avoid typos and grammatical errors!
Proofread your resume multiple times, run it through a tool like Grammarly, and even try reading it out loud to check if the sentences sound right.

☆ Make sure the skills and experience you claim to have are on your resume

It might also be common sense, but if the skills and experience you claim to have are not on your resume, you are unlikely to be selected for an interview.
For example, if you apply for a French-speaking nanny job because you are bilingual and speak French fluently, but this is not on your resume, you will not get a response, because the recruiter will just assume that you do not speak French and that they will be wasting their time with you. They will even wonder why you applied and if you are really a serious candidate?
