This post will not be unanimous but yes, nanny agencies do “blacklist” candidates, which usually means they mark the candidate as someone they do not wish to work with again.
When agencies recommend you to their clients, they engage their responsibility and their reputation, it is understandable that they do not want to work with candidates who will give a bad image of them or who would cause them to lose clients altogether!
Candidates who are blacklisted are rarely blacklisted without good reason and these reasons range from minor to major offenses (for example : being difficult to reach, sending too many unsuitable applications, not showing up for an interview, accept a position behind the agency’s back, etc…)
The best way to avoid the blacklist is to be your best self at all times and understand the powerful impact your actions and words can have!
And anyway, candidates also sometimes decide that they no longer want to work with an agency, it goes both ways.
The hard truth however is that often candidates who whine everywhere that no one responds to them are in fact blacklisted because they exhibit unacceptable behavior towards recruitment agencies… If you are wondering why you have no response despite all the messages and applications sent, you should consider that you may be blacklisted and in this case, unfortunately, there is no going back…
