A loving and kind family in northern Westchester County, NY are seeking a rotational nanny for their two children, ages 2 and 3. The schedule will be 14 days on/14 days off with a general daily schedule of 7am to 8pm. The day-to-day schedule will vary based on the family’s needs and travel plans. There is a 24/7 mentality needed during the on-duty days, though the nanny will sleep in their own room. A person who is energetic, positive, warm, professional, and developmentally focused will excel in this role. The family wants someone who is a great caregiver, who is reliable, and will create a stimulating environment for their children. It’s a huge plus if you have experience with a Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or similar child-led philosophies. Both children will are in pre-school programs, one 5 mornings per week and one 3 mornings per week.
Job responsibilities include implementing developmentally-appropriate activities and facilitating development of the children. The role also includes light housekeeping and meal preparation for the children. The family’s home is fully-staffed, so you must be a team-player. The family is seeking a long-term fit with this nanny. The ideal candidate is active and energetic with a calm demeanor and has a pitch-in attitude. Someone who is committed to engaging in children’s specific interests and promoting early childhood learning and development would do best in this role.
The candidate must swim, drive, have live-in experience, and several years of nanny experience. For now, the family will only consider candidates who are semi-local and within a few hours’ distance of the residence. You must have infant/child CPR and First-Aid certifications (or be willing to update them ASAP), and must be vaccinated for COVID, including the available boosters. Someone who is passport ready is ideal, as there is international travel involved. It would be ideal if the rotational nanny speaks Spanish, as many of the household staff does as well.
