A private family in Tribeca, NY, is looking for a native or near-native French-speaking teacher and educational nanny to support two girls aged 2 and 3. The children currently have no French language skills and will attend a French school in the future, so the main focus of the role will be creating a strong French immersion environment and preparing them for their future education. The family is looking for an experienced education professional who can take the lead on French immersion while working closely with the existing childcare team.
A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field is required. The successful candidate will speak French naturally with the girls throughout the day and introduce the language through conversation, books, songs, play, creative activities, and everyday routines. The role will also involve planning age-appropriate educational activities that support their language development, social skills, confidence, and early learning.
The position includes collaborative childcare support, and the family already has two rota nannies as part of a fully staffed household. The French teacher and nanny should be comfortable working as part of a team and communicating clearly with the other caregivers.
The role will follow a regular Monday to Friday schedule of 40 hours per week, with additional travel required when the family travels. A valid passport and willingness to travel are essential. Private accommodation can be provided for a non-local candidate, but visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must already have the legal right to live and work in the United States. Candidates who require visa sponsorship or plan to work in the US under ESTA will not be considered.
This is a long-term position offering $120,000–$150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
