Our active family is seeking a top-notch, flexible, caring, and dynamic Nanny to assist with the care and development of our two-year-old son. This position is for a dedicated professional with a genuine passion for the care and education of children. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the child’s care and wants to be an integral part of developing him into well rounded and grounded individual.

Duties/Skills –

Be flexible, in terms of schedule to accommodate the family’s needs, and available to travel with the family.If candidate is based in Florida, this would be a live-out position; with the flexibility to travel with the family to Washington DC as a live-in Nanny.
If candidate is based in the Washington DC area, this would be a live-out position; with the flexibility to travel with the family to Florida as a live-in Nanny.
Given the family’s active lifestyle the candidate is expected to create and maintain a structured routine for the child.
When family is in Florida, the son does attend preschool three days per week (9am – 4:30 pm) This is the time to be proactive about the organizing, cleaning, planning for the week or day of all things related to the child’s life: i.e., extra-curricular activities, menus, shopping, errands (assist parents with other tasks if necessary).
Experience working in a private home for a high-profile family
Comfortable working in a team but also taking the initiative and being a self-starter.
Maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Partner with the parents to instill the family’s philosophy and values daily.
Support and reinforce manners and social skills for the child according to the methods as instructed by the parents.
The son loves the outdoors and very active; develop and implement play-based learning and educational activities in conjunction with parents.
Organizational projects relating to children: Rotating toys/books regularly, wardrobes current and organized, taking toys & clothes for donations.
Drive them to/from school and activities in car provided by the family.
Responsible for maintaining, tidy-up after the child – to ensure the home is always guest ready.
Assist with personal hygiene and overall care to include changing diapers; sleep routines; sleep training; reading.
Managing family and school calendars
Plan extra-curricular activities monthly both at home and while traveling.
Preparing and planning nutritious weekly menus/meals for review and approval in advance.
Run errands as needed
Pack/unpack and organize activities for travel related destinations that ensures the correct gear for the different destinations. Cold weather vs. Warm.
Be professional and can observe Employer/Employee boundaries that are always required. The home environment is relaxed but the family expects a high level of professionalism and service to be given in this career nanny role.

Requirements –

5+ years’ experience as a nanny for a private family; or similar role
Excellent, stable work history and references
Clean driving record
Good swimmer
Non-Smoker
Fluent in English
Legal to work in the US
Preferred but not required –

Bachelors and/or master’s in early childhood development a plus
CPR certification
Cook for the family a few times per week and/or meal prep
Compensation-

Hourly DOE
2 Weeks paid vacation
Paid OT
Extra day rate pay for travel day with the family
