A vibrant family in Soho, Manhattan is seeking a Portuguese-speaking nanny to care for their 2-year-old child. The ideal candidate is nurturing, experienced with toddlers, and fluent in Portuguese, with a strong focus on bilingual development, age-appropriate activities, and supporting key developmental milestones in a safe and stimulating environment.
The role involves full childcare responsibilities, including meal preparation, nap routines, diapering, and hygiene, as well as planning engaging, educational activities to promote language, cognitive, and social development. The nanny will focus on fostering bilingual skills through daily interactions and play, ensuring the child develops a strong foundation in both Portuguese and English. Attention to routines and consistency in care is essential to create a secure and structured environment for the toddler.
During the summer months, the role transitions to a live-in position as the family travels, requiring flexibility and adaptability. The nanny will accompany the family on domestic and international trips, maintaining continuity of care and supporting the child’s daily routines while on the move. This requires someone confident, proactive, and comfortable with travel logistics while providing attentive, high-quality care.
This full-time, live-out position runs Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
Compensation starts at $35+ per hour.
