A family based in San Francisco, California is seeking an experienced Early Years Nanny to care for their 2-year-old daughter. The family is looking for someone who can support the little girl’s development through play, music, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, and plenty of one-on-one interaction, while providing the consistency and warmth that are so important at this age.
The family has homes throughout the United States and travels extensively both domestically and internationally, so travel is a significant part of the role. You’ll help the child settle into new environments, keep familiar routines across different time zones, and make each destination an opportunity for exploration and learning. This is a live-in position, with accommodation provided wherever the family is based or travelling. The ideal candidate will be confident, flexible, discreet, and genuinely excited by the idea of travelling with a young child and a family.
Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, nurturing care for a 2-year-old girl
Support early childhood development through age-appropriate play and interaction
Plan stimulating activities involving music, arts and crafts, books, sensory play, and outdoor exploration
Encourage language, social, emotional, and physical development
Manage daily routines including meals, naps, bath time, and bedtime
Accompany the family on frequent domestic and international travel
Pack and organize the child’s clothing, toys, and travel belongings
Maintain familiar routines and schedules while travelling across different time zones
Coordinate travel essentials, activities, and age-appropriate experiences on the move
Drive the child to activities, classes, appointments, and outings as required
Communicate easily and professionally with parents and other household staff
Ensure the child’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing at home and while travelling
Requirements:
Strong professional experience caring for toddlers and young children
Solid understanding of early childhood development
Valid passport and ability to travel freely internationally
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Willingness and confidence to drive
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Ability to swim preferred
French language skills would be a significant advantage
Warm, energetic, flexible, and highly organized
Comfortable working in a private household and travelling extensively
Excellent communication skills and professional discretion
Outstanding references from previous employers
Position Details:
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with weekends off
Position: Live-in
Salary: Up to $200,000 per year, depending on experience
