A VIP family based in Reem Island, Abu Dhabi is looking for a confident, educated Governess to support the academic development of their three teenagers, who are currently following a British Curriculum education. This is a hands-on, mentor-style role suited to someone who enjoys working with older children and can combine strong academic support with a calm, motivating presence in the home. The family is looking for someone who naturally leads by example, builds trust, and can keep teenagers engaged and on track without being overly formal or rigid.
The children are sporty, active, and busy with school and extracurricular commitments, so the ideal candidate should be equally energetic, organised, and positive. You’ll be working within a fully staffed household alongside other Western staff, so professionalism and teamwork are important. The role includes accompanying the children to events, and family occasions, as well as travelling with the family when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting academic development within the British Curriculum (homework, revision, study planning)
Liaising with schools and teachers to monitor progress and address academic needs
Creating structured educational support tailored to each teenager’s learning style
Acting as a positive role model and mentor, encouraging discipline and independence
Supporting and accompanying children to sports events, fixtures, and activities
Planning educational guidance and helping maintain strong study habits
Travelling with the family during holidays and extended trips
Working collaboratively within a fully staffed household environment
This role would suit someone university educated, sporty, and energetic—someone who enjoys working with teenagers and can strike the right balance between academic structure, mentorship, and a relaxed but responsible presence in their daily lives.
A private apartment is provided, and the position offers AED 25,000 per month.
