Newborn Care Specialist / Postpartum Doula – Redwood City, CA
A family in Redwood City, CA is seeking an experienced Newborn Care Specialist or Postpartum Doula to provide expert overnight support for their newborn, ensuring the baby is thoughtfully and safely cared for while both parents are able to rest and recover. This is an 8 to 12-week contract beginning March 1, ideal for a calm, confident professional with extensive newborn knowledge and a supportive bedside manner. Local candidates only; housing is not provided.
The ideal candidate is deeply knowledgeable in newborn care, feeding support (breast and/or bottle), safe sleep practices, and gentle sleep conditioning. Responsibilities include full overnight newborn care such as feeding, diapering, soothing, monitoring sleep patterns, and maintaining a clean, sanitary nursery environment. The specialist will also wash and sterilize bottles and pump parts as needed, track feedings and sleep, and provide reassurance and education to parents during the postpartum period.
The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with 8 to 10-hour overnight shifts. The family is offering a competitive rate of $55–$75 per hour, depending on experience and credentials.
