A private family in Palm Beach is seeking an experienced Special Needs Educator / Nanny to provide dedicated support for their school-aged daughter with learning differences. The successful candidate will play an active role in the child’s academic, social, and emotional development while working closely with her parents, school, and therapy team to ensure a consistent and collaborative approach. Flexibility to travel with the family is essential to provide continuity of care between residences and during family trips.
The role involves delivering and reinforcing research-based educational strategies aligned with the child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) and therapists’ recommendations, monitoring progress, and adjusting learning approaches as needed. Responsibilities also include supporting homework routines, encouraging independence, developing life skills, reinforcing positive behaviour and etiquette, coordinating with teachers, doctors, and therapists, and transporting the child to activities and appointments when required.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related teaching qualification, have at least five years of professional experience in a school or private household setting, and possess a strong understanding of evidence-based teaching methods for children with learning differences. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator, highly organised, patient, and committed to providing exceptional educational and childcare support within a private family environment.
The position is Monday through Friday, with flexibility to work occasional extended hours and weekends as requested. The successful candidate will also be expected to travel with the family when required.
A competitive base salary of $140,000–$160,000, depending on experience, is offered, along with an excellent benefits package including 100% employer-paid medical insurance, 50% employer-paid dental and vision coverage, 15 days of paid time off, sick leave, six paid holidays, an annual discretionary bonus, and a 401(k) plan.
