Newborn Care Specialist – Washington, DC
A family in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) for a three-month overnight contract beginning in June. This role is ideal for a knowledgeable and professional newborn expert who is confident establishing healthy sleep habits, supporting feeding routines, and providing calm, attentive overnight care during the early months.
The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Responsibilities include all aspects of overnight newborn care: feeding support (breast milk and/or bottle), diapering, soothing, monitoring sleep patterns, maintaining detailed logs as needed, and ensuring bottles and feeding equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. The NCS will help implement structured sleep shaping techniques and provide guidance and reassurance to parents while maintaining a safe and hygienic nursery environment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive newborn experience, strong references, and a calm, confident demeanor. Infant CPR and First Aid certification is preferred. Compensation ranges from $45–$55 per hour, depending on experience.
