A wonderful family with a fully staffed home on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is seeking a full-time Russian-speaking nanny for their two children, ages 9 and 12. The position will be full-time and consist of anywhere between 40 and 50 hours in a typical week. Most often, these shifts will fall between Monday and Friday, but the nanny will be required to work a shift every second or third weekend in a schedule with the other two nannies on staff.
Both children are in school full-time and the family has housekeepers, a chef, and a driver, so job responsibilities will be strictly related to childcare and supervision. A couple of mornings a week, the nanny will be needed in the early morning for about an hour to get the children up, organized, and out the door for school. The after school shifts will involve meeting up with the children at about 3:30 either at home or when they’re dropped off by their driver at an activity and overseeing the evening routine. This could include homework supervision, accompanying one of the children to a lesson or activity, ensuring they have the tools and apparel needed for those lessons, and getting them ready for and in bed (usually around 9pm). Meals and snacks will be taken care of by the chef. If there is a shift over the weekend, it will be a full day from morning to bed time. In the summers, the family travels extensively mostly internationally. There will be opportunities to join the family for that travel, but it won’t all be required, and instead will be split between all the nannies on staff (though pay will be guaranteed even if not joining for travel). The ideal candidate has experience in a fully staffed home, has a proactive and self-sufficient nature, is flexible with their schedule, and has experience with these ages.
This position requires that the candidate be fully vaccinated against COVID. The family travels both domestically and internationally and the candidate should be willing and able to accompany them as needed. You must be legal to work in the US with a US Passport. Confident swimming skills are a plus. Competitive compensation DOE and benefits will be provided.
