A lovely family based near Montecito is seeking a professional, nurturing, and experienced Live-in Nanny to care for their two young children, aged 5 and 2. The ideal candidate will be proactive, flexible, and discrete, with a deep understanding of early childhood development.
This role requires someone who is highly organised, has exceptional attention to detail, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while traveling internationally with the family as needed.
Job duties include:
– Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for both children
– Manage daily routines, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and bedtime for both children
– Plan and coordinate educational and age-appropriate activities that encourage the children’s development (both indoor and outdoor)
– Assist with homework, reading, and other intellectual activities for the 5-year-old
– Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children, mindful of dietary preferences and any allergies
– Accompany the children to school, appointments, playdates, and extracurricular activities
– Organize and manage children’s wardrobes, ensuring clothing is appropriate for each season, size, and occasion
– Handle all aspects of the children’s laundry, including washing, ironing, and organizing their wardrobes
– Coordinate and pack for family travel, ensuring all essential items are prepared
– Manage any medication the children may require and maintain doctor appointments and health records
– Work alongside other household staff, including housekeepers, chefs, and security personnel
– Provide overnight care when parents are away
– Maintain a clean and tidy environment for the children, including playrooms, bedrooms, and common areas
– Foster good manners and discipline using positive reinforcement and appropriate boundaries
– Communicate effectively with the parents and other household staff to ensure seamless coordination of the children’s schedules and activities
Candidates must be/have:
– Minimum of 5 years of nanny experience, preferably with UHNW families or high-profile households
– Proven experience caring for children aged 2-5 years
– Background in early childhood education or development is highly desirable
– CPR and First Aid certification (mandatory)
– Strong understanding of child development milestones and appropriate educational activities
– Ability to travel both domestically and internationally with the family, often on short notice
– Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required
– Fluent in English; knowledge of a second language is a plus
– Discreet, professional, and respectful of the family’s privacy
– Driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive children as needed
– Must have an enhanced background check and verifiable references
Accommodation:
A private, separate living space will be provided, including bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen.
Hours:
Monday through Friday, with flexibility for weekend and evening work as needed. Extra hours and travel days will be compensated.
Salary:
$110,000 – $120,000
