A very kind family based in Montecito, CA is seeking a nanny from mid-to-late June until December 2023 with potential to stay on permanently if both parties desire this- nanny would live off property in an apartment provided by the client if role evolves into permanent. Upon applying for this role a question will be asked if you are just interested in the temporary nanny role with travel potential or if you are interested in this role long-term. They have one sweet son who will be about 18-months-old at time of job start. Please note that with this role there is potential travel planned, but it could change due to travel plans changing. The candidate to hire should be prepared to travel as necessary to places such as Australia, Japan, France, Germany and India, but also be flexible if the role will be primarily based at their home in Montecito, CA.

The temporary role is live-in; there is a converted pool house on property with a bedroom and bathroom. However, the principal’s office is also in the front part of the pool house so he will need access to everything but the bedroom during working hours. While at home in CA the schedule will be 6 days per week and 12 hours per day from 7am-7pm with the occasional later evening for the parents to go out to dinner but in that case they usually offer a later start the next day. The role could also be 10 days per week with 3 days off if this schedule is preferred. When traveling it will be 24/7, but they can probably offer 1-2 days off per week if desired. The child sleeps from 7pm-7am so when working at home in CA it’s a bulk of daytime hours, whereas with traveling they want someone “on call” overnight with the monitor due to jet lag and adjusting to time zone differences.

The candidate to hire must have a lot of travel experience and be highly organized. Preferably COVID vaccinated, but that is not a deal-breaker. The ability to speak French is also desired, but it is not necessary. Ideally the candidate will be Los Angeles-based.
