A busy family in Milford, Michigan is seeking an experienced Night Nanny / Certified Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) to support them during the newborn stage. The ideal candidate will have substantial professional newborn care experience and a strong understanding of infant development, feeding routines, and safe sleep practices. This role is focused on helping both baby and parents establish healthy overnight routines while providing reassurance and expert guidance during those important first months. The family is looking for someone who is knowledgeable, dependable, and able to work independently while maintaining clear communication and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
Providing overnight care for a newborn five nights per week
Supporting healthy sleep habits and age-appropriate overnight routines
Managing overnight feedings, bottle preparation, and feeding support as needed
Monitoring the newborn’s wellbeing and responding appropriately throughout the night
Following current safe sleep recommendations and newborn care best practices
Maintaining logs of feeding, sleeping, and diapering when requested
Offering guidance and reassurance to parents regarding newborn care and routines
Keeping newborn-related areas organized and prepared for the following day
Communicating updates and observations to parents at the end of each shift
Requirements:
Prior professional Newborn Care Specialist experience
Certified Newborn Care Specialist (NCS)
Excellent and verifiable newborn-related references
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Strong knowledge of safe sleep practices and newborn development
Up-to-date vaccinations preferred
Professional, reliable, and comfortable working independently overnight
Schedule: 5 nights per week, 8:00 PM–6:00 AM
Contract Duration: September 1 through Christmas
Compensation: $40+ per hour
