A private family in Marylebone, London is looking for an experienced French-speaking live-in nanny to care for their three school-aged children. The family would love to find someone who will speak French with the children at all times, helping them build confidence and fluency through conversation, play, and daily routines. The role also includes international travel, so someone flexible and happy to travel is essential.
The children are all in school, so this opportunity would suit a nanny who enjoys creating engaging afternoons filled with educational activities, supporting homework where appropriate, and encouraging curiosity beyond the classroom. A full-time housekeeper manages the family’s cleaning, children’s laundry, and most of the cooking, so the role remains focused on childcare. The nanny will simply help keep the children’s bedrooms and play areas tidy and prepare light meals or snacks when needed.
This is a live-in position with a private bedroom and bathroom on a separate floor, offering both comfort and privacy.
Responsibilities:
Speak French with the children at all times to encourage natural language development.
Prepare the children for school each morning and assist with after-school routines.
Plan engaging educational activities that support learning, confidence, and development.
Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and good routines.
Prepare light meals and snacks for the children when needed.
Keep the children’s bedrooms, play areas, and belongings tidy and organised.
Travel internationally with the family as required.
Work closely with parents to support the children’s development and daily routines.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00am–7:00pm. As all three children attend school full-time, the nanny will have several hours of downtime during school hours each day.
Salary: Up to £50,000 gross per year, depending on experience.
Please note: Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, an EU passport alone does not provide the right to work in the UK, so candidates must hold valid UK work authorization.
