A family based in Lake Forest, Illinois is looking for an experienced live-in nanny to care for their two children, aged 6 and 8. This is a long-term opportunity for a proactive, organised, and engaging childcare professional who enjoys supporting school-aged children both academically and emotionally. Working Monday to Friday on split shifts before and after school, the nanny will become an important part of the family’s daily routine, providing a nurturing environment while encouraging independence, confidence, and a love of learning. An educational background or previous experience in education would be highly valued.
The role includes assisting with the morning routine and school preparation, preparing healthy packed lunches, school pick-ups, transporting the children to extracurricular activities and appointments using the family’s vehicle, and supporting homework and daily routines. The nanny will also be responsible for the children’s laundry, keeping their bedrooms and play areas organised, and planning engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote creativity, learning, and outdoor play.
The family is seeking someone with excellent spoken English, a valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record, a valid passport, and legal authorisation to work in the United States. CPR and First Aid certification, or a willingness to obtain it before starting, is required, and flexibility to travel with the family is essential.
The successful candidate will enjoy private live-in accommodation and a salary of $100,000+ per year, depending on experience.
