A private family based in Jurmala, Latvia is seeking an experienced Native English-Speaking Nanny / Governess to join their childcare team and provide dedicated support for their 8-year-old daughter. This is a fully staffed rotational position working alongside a Russian-speaking ROTA counterpart, creating a bilingual environment for the child. The family is looking for an engaging, organized, and educated professional who can serve as both a positive role model and a trusted caregiver while helping to nurture the child’s confidence, independence, and social skills.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with school-aged children and understands the balance between providing structure and creating a fun, supportive atmosphere. The successful candidate will oversee daily routines, encourage good manners and etiquette, support academic and personal development, and ensure the child remains engaged through meaningful activities both at home and outside the home. The schedule is one month on / one month off, with live-in accommodation provided during working rotations and return flights covered between rotations. An EU passport is required.
Responsibilities:
Manage the child’s daily routine and schedule
Coordinate school drop-offs and pick-ups
Accompany the child to extracurricular activities, appointments, and outings
Organize engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and creativity
Foster independence, responsibility, and strong organizational habits
Teach and reinforce good manners, etiquette, and respectful behavior
Support the child’s social, emotional, and educational development
Create a positive English-speaking environment through natural conversation and interaction
Work collaboratively with the Russian-speaking ROTA nanny/governess to ensure consistency and continuity of care
Maintain clear communication with parents regarding the child’s progress and daily activities
Requirements:
Native-level English speaker
Previous experience as a Nanny, Governess, or similar private household childcare professional
Experience working with school-aged children
Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach
Professional, polished, and able to serve as a positive role model
Comfortable working within a fully staffed household environment
EU passport holder required
Willingness to commit to a long-term rotational schedule
