A family in Hillsborough is seeking a live-out governess for their 4 children. The children’s ages are 12, 10, 5, and 2. The 2-year-old has his own nanny and the older children are in school full-time. The family has a live-in cook, housekeeper, and educational consultant as well. They are specifically looking for someone who can work with the Mother and the educational consultant regarding the children’s education, curriculum, homework, and schedules. The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday from 12pm-8pm. However, the candidate to hire may start and end earlier some days if this is preferred. The family would also request some occasional weekend help.
The governess duties would include developing college-level curriculum and providing general oversight of curriculum, managing tutors, and implementing a similar educational philosophy as the parents. The family assistant duties would include overseeing management of the home, parties, play-dates, overseeing household staffing, and overseeing family travel.
It is a bonus if the candidate to hire speaks Mandarin Chinese. The children speak English and Mandarin Chinese. There is a preference for candidates who have been private school teachers. The family is also open to offering the governess role part-time to a candidate who has been or is a professor.
The candidate to hire must be COVID-vaccinated. The compensation for this role is $140k-180k plus benefits for the governess/family assistant role and $100k-140k plus benefits for the governess role. The family is open to relocating a candidate for this role.
